The most effective treatments for Borderline Personality Disorder are Talking therapies, I’ve gone through tons of them in my time at CAHMS. But what i always found myself doing was forgetting my whole week and then having nothing to report at my weekly sessions.
So many times I’ve been told to keep a journal but I’m just so bad at it it didn’t go very far, Until I realised, “Hold up, Wait a minute, something ain’t right!” And looked for pre made templates or tried to make my own ones to track my mood, sleep, symptoms and meds. The benefit of tracking those is that you can then spot patterns making your therapy more effective as well as reminding you to take your meds (very important!). Introspection is key to aid engagement in therapy. You know yourself best and the more information you can provide the better the other persons understanding of what is going on. Knowing all this i decided to put together a journal to help people with BPD manage their symptoms.
